Fort Gratiot man's loyalty to brand began in 1939

LOYAL CUSTOMER: John Gathergood, 82, of Fort Gratiot shows off his 2003 Buick Park Avenue Ultra -- the 30th Buick he has owned since 1939.
In early February, John Gathergood walked into the showroom of Cawood Buick Pontiac Honda in Port Huron.
"It's time for the black one," Gatherwood, 82, of Fort Gratiot said to saleswoman Dee Koepke.
Some paperwork and a few days later, Gathergood drove off the lot in a black 2003 Buick Park Avenue Ultra.
Sound commonplace? Not when you consider the Park Avenue was Gathergood's 30th new Buick, all bought at the same dealership.
